Overwhelmingly South Africans are still choosing DJ's to provide musical entertainment for their weddings. It is however heartening that 20% use a musician be it a singer or a live band.

First Dance Songs

The recent Wedding Survey results demonstrated that there is no popular first dance song currently but rather the first dance songs vary between the golden oldies such as Frankie and Dean to Afrikaans singers.

The most popular musicians were Michael Buble and Bryan Adams.

The most popular SA Band was the Parlatones with a variety of Afrikaans musicians featuring including Kurt Darren, Karen Zoid and Juanita du Plessis.

The overall message from the survey is that brides and grooms are selecting music that is meaningful to them and their memories rather than what's on the Top 40.
