Membership & Accreditation Rules, Regulations & Guidelines
I/We, hereby agree on approval/renewal of SABIA membership to abide by the following rules and regulations as set out below by the South African Bridal Industry Academy (SABIA).
I/We will:
- At all times do nothing, which would tarnish the reputation or brand name of SABIA and its Members.
- Report any Member who has or is contributing to an undesirable image of the SABIA and/or its Members.
- Report wedding suppliers who are suspected of engaging in vote tampering via the official SABIA Awards nomination process.
- Answer any substantiated allegations relating to unacceptable behaviour as reported by fellow Academy Members.
- Refrain from slandering or publicly criticising the Academy or its Members.
- Place, promote and or print the SABIA Members, Nominee, Finalist and Winners Logo on all advertising and promotions mediums.
- Within 30 days of membership acceptance, place a link from my/our website to www.sabia.co.za
- Display all SABIA Award Winner, Finalist and Nominee plaques in public view at my/our place of business.
- Ensure all data appearing on the SABIA web site, relevant to my/our business is true and correct.
- Follow all directions relevant to my/our SABIA Membership as directed from time to time by SABIA.
- Advise SABIA within 7 days of any changes in physical, email or web address and or my/our telephone, mobile and or fax numbers.
- Advise SABIA within 7 days of sale of business or change in ownership of business.
- Pay all accounts as rendered by SABIA within the time prescribed.
- Distribute the SABIA Awards nomination forms to all couples serviced by me/us up to a maximum of 18 months after their wedding.
- Refrain from providing SABIA nomination forms to any supplier who is not an accredited member of the Academy.
- Refrain from directing in writing or otherwise, a couple to vote for selected suppliers of my/our choosing.
- Supply SABIA via email or in writing with a copy/proof of any advertising using the SABIA logo or name.
- Provide to SABIA via email, fax or in writing a copy of any correspondence enclosed or associated with the SABIA nomination form.
Instruct each couple to send the completed SABIA Awards nomination form directly to the SABIA address shown on the form. - Make every effort to win the SABIA Award for my/our category(s) within the rules as set down by SABIA from time to time.
Member Cancellation or Revocation Rules, Regulations & Guidelines
I/We, hereby agree to abide by the following rules and regulations upon termination of my/our Membership of SABIA.
I/We will:
- Provide SABIA (in writing) within 30 days prior to membership renewal of intention to cease Membership of SABIA.
- Remove all SABIA logos SABIA names, derivatives and references from all advertising within 7 days of termination of membership.
- Provide a list of publications displaying the SABIA name or logo which are/will be in circulation after termination of membership.
- Pay SABIA a limited License fee for the use of the SABIA name or logos which will appear in publications after termination of membership.
- Return all unused SABIA Award nomination forms in my/our possession to the SABIA address shown on the nomination form.
- Remove within 7 days from my/our place of business all SABIA certificates and logos.
- Refrain from public display all SABIA Winner plaques or SABIA merchandise at bridal fairs or bridal expos.
- Refrain from distributing any literature which purports too, or gives the impression that I/We are current members of SABIA.
- Pay all outstanding accounts within 7 days of termination of membership.
